Getting to know the Marvec Priest AIO90

Maybe you have never heard of Marvec, I know I hadn’t until I stumbled on there booth at the ECC show back in August 2017. Well let’s just say there booth left an impression on me and I put them in my show report, just look at there stab wood mod.

I made an album with some of there other products you can check out: https://imgur.com/a/8wivE2K

I left a card with Nic and a few month later he contacted me about a review and of course I was on board. I was actually expecting different products but when I opened the package for the Priest AIO90 my first thought was, wow, this is nice. I then went into the owners manual to check the specs and it read 18650, 20700 and 21700 compatible…ummmm, Hellz yeah…oh wait, misprint in the manual, only takes 18650 so my excitement went down a notch. I then looked at the accessories and wait, what is this, a RBA for single coil that looks to be Baby Beast compatible, excitement right back up again!

I got the black resin version and let me tell you this thing is a beaut and the resin has that nice satin texture that feels great. Mine had a little rattle on the door of one side but settled in after a few weeks to hardly noticeable. Both panels are removable and you will need to do so to remove the battery.

The pic on the bottom left the space under the fire button is to put a spare coil…slick.

The included drip tip just would not do for me but luckily it is a 510 so I had plenty of options and they all fit just right.

Comes with there own baby beast compatible coil 0.20 ohms rated from 40 to 130 watts, best from 70 to 90 watts but whatevs, there is a single coil RBA included!

Easy to fire with either my thumb or middle finger, whichever way I picked it up finding the fire button was never a problem.

Building the RBA

The problem with the RBA is you will have to build on it without a base unless you have a baby beast compatible tank already, that way you can use that base. You will have to remove the thick o’ring first though like the pic below.

Triple core fused clapton 30g inner with 38g wrap on a 2.5mm post

That will of course make it easier but if you don’t have a baby beast compatible base to build on I tried it without. The trick is to do a spaced coil, spaced coils do not have to be dry burned to work out the hotspots so you can build and wick. Just make sure the coil is not touching anything on the deck and has sufficient space from the posts.

Both of the above builds works great but my favorite was my first build, a 5 wrap 2.5mm post 26g dual core with 36g wrap fused kanthal clapton. Since it was a contact coil I built it on a baby beast compatible based to work out the hotspots.

This build was crackling good, so good in fact I was on the phone with a friend who could hear the coil crackling. He asked me what is that, I told him it was the new Marvec Priest AIO90 with the RBA section installed and I was loving it. I used that first build for close to 2 weeks and everytime I reached for the Priest it was like I was getting a blessing, flavor and all around performance for an AIO is the best I have experienced using the RBA section.

Building on the RBA is fairly easy even if you don’t have a baby beast compatible base although that does make it easier and safer. All the builds came out between 0.22 and 0.30 ohms and the Priest fired them all with ease.

For me the RBA base made the whole kit that much better and the performance was at another level. It has the added benefit that it can be used in baby beast compatible tanks and unlike Smok’s baby beast RBA you don’t have to use a bigger glass. You do have to change the bottom o’ring though, just remove the thick o’ring on the RBA coil and replace it with the bottom o’ring of a baby beast compatible coil. I did use it this way in a couple of baby beast compatible tanks like the Squid Peacemaker and Vaptio Frogman XL and got great results. It is a tighter draw than the Smok baby beast RBA and Advken Dominator RBA but both of those have compatibility issues with other baby beast coil tanks.

The premade coil and other baby beast compatible coils

After probably a month with various builds on the RBA I knew I had to try the coil Marvec includes and sells in a 5 pack at a good price. Flavor and clouds are decent, about as good as most baby beast compatible coils. I was already spoiled by the RBA coil though, the premade doesn’t match it but there are hardly any premades that will match a good RBA with a great build.

I found that Eleaf coils like the HW1-C will work with no problems, you just have to replace the bottom o’ring with the thicker one that comes with the RBA or Marvec’s own premade.

You won’t be able to use some of the newer coils from Eleaf or Joyetech that use the mesh or net as those coils are just too big. I was able to use the new Smok V8 Baby Mesh coils though but installing it is a little more tricky due to the size, the coil won’t fit through the bottom hole, it is too big. I found a solution though.

You first replace the bottom o’ring from the V8 Baby Mesh coil with the one from the RBA or Marvec’s premade, they do include a spare. Install the chimney first then screw the coil onto it from the inside. Then push down until the bottom o’ring is seated and screw on the bottom ring which is used to secure the coil and make your negative contact.

This is my first experience with the Smok V8 Baby Mesh coil and with it being 0.15 ohms might not be the best match for battery life. Took a little while to break in and with a fresh battery would get dry hits when chain vaping on my 3rd hit. After it broke in though the dry hits went away and wow is it a tasty and cloudy vape, you would be shocked what it puts out. Still not the equal of the RBA coil but I have been using it for the past 4 days and it is really enjoyable.

What’s not to like?

I lost track of time and just saw I have had the Priest AIO90 for almost 6 weeks with daily use. Really the main thing is the condensation needs someplace to go and will settle mostly behind the door on the USB side. There is a airhole to the side but condensation always finds a way to settle behind that door.

It never gets into the battery compartment or into the USB as that is raised. It is something you have to wipe down daily though but is never noticeable on the outside.

I still have a little rattle on the panel where the power button is, was worse when I first got it. I do consider it a minor con but it should be mentioned.

A base should be included to build the RBA section on for those who do not have a compatible tank. Just from a safety standpoint it is important to note so you can check your ohms and dry fire your coil.

Battery life

With the RBA or a prebuilt coil in the 0.25 to 0.30 range the battery life is great, really one of the few single 18650 mods I am willing to use. With a lower ohm coil like 0.15 ohms it is not as good but I can get through half the day with a single 18650. I measured 3.48V when I got the low battery warning and it stopped firing while using a 0.15 ohm build. 3.33V when using a 0.27 ohm build.

I used the USB to charge it a few times on the road and no problems there. It is a passthrough charge so you can vape at the same time. While it is always recommended to charge with an external charger I can confirm it worked fine and is claimed to be 2 amp charging.

Overall the battery life is great for a single 18650, I had no complaints there and I am someone who hates single 18650 in most cases.

Pros:

  • Damn thing is beautiful and I have gotten a lot of compliments on it
  • Resin panels have that nice silky feel and just so nice to hold
  • Great battery life and passthrough 2 amp charging
  • Great flavor with the included RBA coil and the prebuilt coil is good as well
  • Baby beast coil compatible
  • Finish has held up really well and that is with it flying out of my cup holder a couple of times
  • 6ml juice capacity and not a juice guzzler, lasts me all day unless I go crazy with a mesh coil
  • Simple, just 5 clicks on/off and a full array of safety features

Cons:

  • Condensation builds up behind the panels, mostly on the USB side
  • No base included for building the RBA coil on, can use any baby beast compatible tank though
  • Panels have a little rattle

Final thoughts

I was surprised when I saw the date I received the Marvec Priest AIO90, nearly 6 weeks and it feels like I have had it for maybe half that. I have really enjoyed my time with this little gem and it mostly has to do with the performance I got with the RBA coil. Don’t get me wrong, I am really enjoying the Smok V8 Baby Mesh coil now that it has broken in but that RBA coil…ohhhh yeah. I don’t think there is a day that went by that I didn’t pick up the Priest and give it a vape and I can’t say that about all the other items I have in for review. I never thought there would be a single 18650 mod I would enjoy again but that is not the case here.

The Priest is a looker as well, I walked into a local vape shop to get some supplies and one of the employees asked me what I had in my hand. I handed it to him and before I knew it all 3 employees were around just oohing and ahhing and all 3 said they had to have one. This is a vape shop with all the high end goodies as well and I was a little surprised at the reaction but the Priest sells itself. If you see it in person and to try it out you will be convinced you have to have one as well.

I generally don’t rave about products with the exception of those that just perform to another level. The Marvec Priest AIO90 is the best AIO device I have personally ever used but keep in mind I have never used a Billet Box. I am thinking if the Billet Box works like this though I can now understand why they were so popular.

I am seeing the one I have for $41 and I think that is a steal: http://www.3fvape.com/mod-kit/23541-authentic-marvec-priest-aio-90w-starter-kit-rainbow-aluminum-resin-1-x-18650-5ml.html#.Wyn3_KdKiM8
You can find deals here: http://www.vapecrawler.com/results/Marvec%20Priest%20AIO90

Just make sure you get the version with the RBA section, they sell other version with just the prebuilt coil which is still good but not RBA good. If you have a favorite baby beast compatible prebuilt coil though it will still perform, just make sure it will fit, not all of them will.

Even though I didn’t get the stab wood mod from Marvec this came out so much better than I expected. There is no money or commissions for me with this review gig but the pleasure of getting an item I will continue to use and enjoy. Yeah, that makes it worthwhile and thank you to Marvec for sending me this surprise. Really I just do reviews as I was tired of getting burned by YT reviewers who sometimes only spend a couple of days with a product. I don’t accept money from mfg’s to do a review and if they can’t wait 3 to 6 weeks for a review then don’t send me products, simple as that.

Check out there website for more info (ignore the 10ml capacity, it is only 6ml) http://www.marvec-cn.com/latest-original-products/55211258.html and make sure to check out there other products, a company that really imressed me at the ECC show.

Check out how this stacks up to other tasty gear and meet the Steampugs team of reviewers. Your bound to have a good time and read up on some great products, not so great ones too http://www.steampugs.co.uk/

This is only my opinion and nothing has been scientifically tested . With changes at @Nicotine_River i thought id give their purnic a try. Please excuse pictures they are from my poor old phone …

the two products being compared Nicselect 100mg/ml pg base vs PurNic 100mg/ml pg base.

I felt i should use the same juice, so i mixed up two separate 30ml bottles of RFSC Strawberry Milkshake @4pct and am using 3mg/ml strength.

in the syringe i pulled up .9ml of each product and noticed no difference in color they both are very clear …

top syringe is Nicselect and bottom is the Purnic
again sorry for pics.

Im using a derringer rda with a single coil 9wrap .3ohms vaping at 35watts .

these two products are very similar , they are both clear in color and have no order of any kind. We do know that looks can be very deceiving , but not in this case. I first tried the Purnic because i have used Nicselect for so long i know the product and i also want everything to be fresh when i tried the PurNic for the first time. After dripping a few times i am very surprised that the PurNic is as clean as the Nicselect there are no off notes no harshness it seems to be everything NicSelect was/is i would recommend this Nicotine and would say it is equal in quality to Nicselct and holds a little more Value since the price is better … my only question is how will it hold up over a steeping process only time will tell and ill come back to let you know … hope this helps anyone wondering about PurNic … any questions feel free to ask if i can ill answer ty

Hello

I love Marzipan. I got the Marzipan Flavor from FA. Now I would like to mix a simple Marzipan juice. Here’s a list of my humble flavor stash. So far, I mixed only 3 recipes from here. All of them are amazing. I tried some experiments by myself )not with marzipan) and they…well…I can vape it but…yeah…I would give them to my friends

My idea is a mix with Marzipan, Yellow Cake and Bavarian Cream DX. Can this work? I thought it would be nice if the juic has some creamy and cake components. But I’m not sure yet. I’ll check some other recipes here to figure out what could be a possible balance of those flavors. How ever, I’m thankful for every suggestions.

Edit: Some juices are very smooth. I almost want to say creamy. The Humble Juice for example are that way. Others are more clear…sharp…difficult to describe. I wanted the Marzipan juice the creamy way. That’s why I came up with cream flavors. But may be that’s not the way to go.

Baby Beast and Big Baby Beast Coil Compatibility list

REPOSTING: The list of Big Baby Beast & ProCore COILS:

There are a few other coils that might fit Big Baby, Baby Beast & ProCore series Tanks, the reader will need to further research to see if they may have any of these tanks and if their coils will fit and safely work in their Tank. It seems there are small coils that only fit the large base of the ProCore and Big Baby tanks, and some smaller coils that fit both the Big Baby and Baby Beast tanks. The following is furnished for information purposes only; I have not personally tested all of these coils to see if they even screw in. But I believe everything I read on the internet, and the ones with :white_check_mark: I have tested and they at least work. Of course you will be responsible for any loss or damage of any kind, and I’m sure your warranty will be voided if you use non branded coils in your tank. The wide range of possibilities may however give you opportunity to use your TC mode, or give ceramic coil possibilities, and maybe even a rebuild-able (RBA) coil, or possibly provide a mesh coil possibility:

Vandy Vape Triple II RTA (V2)

The Vandy Vape Triple II RTA is the second Triple Coil option from Vandy Vape, and designed by VapingwithTwisted419. What? If you noticed the name change, it is due to the recent crackdown by Youtube on rather informative and helpful channels. This collaboration has given way to a beastly rebuildable. The Triple II RTA was given to me by Vandy Vape for the purpose of this review. Let’s do this!

1* Triple Ⅱ RTA
1* 17.5mm Resin Drip tip

1* Replace Glass Tube
1* 510 Adapter

My kit actually came with a coil leg length Lead Guide, but I am not sure this will be available for the kit. It is shown alongside Vandy Vape’s Capstone RDA, so it may have been placed with my kit accidentally. If not, it’s a nifty little tool.

Aesthetics

I don’t think I have liked the look of a tank more than I like this one. The basic SS version has a 3 T pattern on the chamber, and like many tanks has a simple branding design. It has some slight lined pattern on the top and base, but for the most part it is simplistic. The first thing you will notice is its sheer size, a whopping 28mm. For some, this makes no difference, especially if you have used a 30mm or larger tank like the Mason Dumptank or the Aromamizer Plus .

There is a bit of a length difference between the original Triple RTA, mainly because the chimney on the V2 is slightly longer. That isn’t a trade off, as the barrel seems slightly reduced from the original. That may seem like it would impact the flavor, but it doesn’t. The original Triple length was 41.9mm while the V2 is 45mm. A welcome change between the two is the short, white, translucent drip tip. It has a nice edging that runs the diameter of the tip, making for a nice texture, although really subtle. I prefer it over the Ultem and Doc Drip Tips of the original. It just makes for a much sleeker appearance.

For its outward appearance, the greatest thing going for this tank is the ability to customize. In addition to the translucent drip tip, there is also a resin tip, as well as a resin bulging tube. I personally like the resin tip with the standard glass. I don’t quite like the look of a bulging tube, be it glass or resin, I just have never found the appreciation for them. I do like the option for a larger e-liquid capacity, just not the style of it. All in all, the body and style of the Triple and Triple V2 only have minor differences between them. The deck is where the real fun begins.

Functionality

Before actually building on the RTA, I looked it over carefully, and what stood out was the wicking holes, as well as this white separator that sits carefully inside the airflow. This separator sits at a slightly diagonal angle, directing the airflow precisely under the honeycomb airflow. The wicking holes on the Triple II are pretty massive, in fact a single coil option would be looking at a bigger diameter just to accommodate the wicking hole. The airflow is enormous, and can be used fully open for a crazy airy vape, or closed down for a nice, restrictive flavor-fest. As for the top-fill, the hole is massive, so you can fill it without pushing the air around and forcing a leak (in case you are a fast filler). It is also butter smooth to open and close, and creates a strong seal.

The deck itself is quite different than the original, which used an elongated, horizontal airflow underneath the coils. The newer deck consists of a skateboard style platform with a honeycomb pattern of holes for the airflow. This pattern not only brings the airflow up under the coils, but along the sides of the coils as well at each tip of the deck. The style deck used is also similar to the Kylin Mini RTA, just larger and more elaborate. With the barrel being reduced, and the top of the chamber being so rounded and dome-shaped, there is little to no flavor loss. The deck is post-less, with 6 holes for the coil legs held in place by Allen grub screws. Regarding leg length, honestly, you can eyeball it. It is so simple to cut the legs to proper length, as long as you just don’t cut too much at first.

Let’s talk coils for a minute. This deck will fit a whole host of coil configurations, but if you are going to take advantage of the triple coil, I would keep the ID 3mm or below, just to make things easy. You could probably get away with 3.5mm, depending on the coil type, but sticking with a 3mm will ensure you have no touching, and also allow the cotton to fill the wicking holes perfectly. The first build I actually used on here was a 2.5mm ID Triple Core Clapton, and did a dual coil configuration. It actually wicked perfectly, without any changes to the tails on my cotton. You don’t really want to stuff the cotton into the wicking holes, but they are large enough make any fiddling with coil tails pretty unnecessary (for a dual coils at least).

My next build on the Triple II was a triple coil, using a 2.5mm ID and the same Triple Core Clapton (32x3/40). Because of my diameter, they fit with plenty of room. The wicking did need a little combing, just to get the fit ‘lightly placed’ instead of shoved in there. I also tend to make 2 upward (vertical) slits in my cotton tails, just out of habit to avoid dry hits. It’s probably due to the Griffin wicking days, those very frustrating days. My resistance sat at 0.26Ω with the triple coil configuration. The wattage needed to be above 70w to really kick this build into gear, anything lower was just not enough power to really let the build shine. The flavor from the triple coil setup was intense and warm, and even with back to back vaping, I never got a single dry hit. I would definitely suggest that you have a good pair of batteries to accommodate the triple coil configuration if you choose to use it.

For a single coil setup, you will definitely want to use a larger style coil than what I have used for dual and triple, or at the least a larger diameter. Even a standard Fused Clapton, such as 26x2/36 would be appropriate. I have yet to use a single coil on the Triple II, but I plan on using a larger coil type to accommodate the wicking holes.

My Thoughts

So, honesty time. I’m not a tank person. I really enjoy drippers for the flavor and ability to control my wicking precisely. I have owned several RTA’s that just could not keep up with chain-vaping without a dry hit. I was really quite surprised at how the Triple II checked all my boxes for an enjoyable vape. The airflow holes are really quite large, and a bit longer than on a traditional 22-24mm tank. This allows the for a really airy vape, and I even found myself closing it down about a quarter of the way.

The flavor from the Triple II is just gorgeous, I mean really close to what I get from my RDA’s, and I have even found myself using it more than my RDA’s since I have gotten it. Due to the unique airflow, the flavor is really intense and satisfying. That isn’t the only thing that really draws me to this RTA though. The wicking is just impossible to get wrong on the Triple II because the holes are just massive. They would have to be to accommodate 3 pieces of cotton. You would probably have to fan out the cotton a bit for a single coil, but I had no leaking at all using dual coils, even at a smaller diameter than most use. The Accessory bag also gives the option to use Phillip Head Grub Screws if you aren’t quite a fan of Allen Grub Screws, so that’s also a plus. The absolute winning feature here is the flavor that this RTA provides, as well as its ability to suck up juice and keep the cotton really saturated. The flavor is really dense and full, and being that it wicks like a dream, each hit is consistent. I haven’t had one dry hit during my usage of the Triple II. There are two tiny cons with this tank, and I hate to point them out, but I have to.

  1. Tight Fit 810: Because of the short translucent drip tip sitting so flush with the top of the RTA, it is really difficult to remove. You can’t really just pull it off, your fingers slip if you try due to its length. It has to be pried up from underneath, and each time I feel as if I am going to damage the drip tip, or at least dent it. Rubbing a small bit of VG makes the prying easier, but the fit is still very tight.

  2. AFC Hard to Move: Wowsers. The AFC is really difficult to turn, which may have something to do with the separator that sits inside the airflow chamber. It is very tight, and moving it requires the use of my nail, which I can use to move the AFC while also holding enough pressure on the RTA to stop its movement. It can still be moved, but it is very hard to do so.

Even with these little minor cons, I have loved using the RTA, and they certainly aren’t reasons to dislike or not use it. The Triple II is certainly a juice guzzler, that’s a given, but the sheer flavor it provides is so worth it. I find this RTA totally worth a buy, even if I am constantly refilling it. Even if you don’t want to do a triple coil, the flavor from dual coils is superb. It’s a stellar RTA, which is something I haven’t thought of an RTA for a long time. With some users comparing the flavor of the original Triple RTA to an Aromamizer Plus, I can only imagine their thoughts on the V2. I have really enjoyed using it, it’s a fantastic RTA.

Can anyone point my husband and I in the right direction to find a US based or a truly reliable site that sells Mesh RDTA’s … We are both wanting to buy one and the sites we usually order from do not carry the Vapefly Mesh Pro RDTA or RDA which are the ones we are interested in buying… We almost always shop on elementvape.com, if not there then we use, myvaporstore.com or vaporbeast.com. None of these carry this tank and only carry 2 or 3 mesh RDA RDTA but none are the type we want they are all the vertical clamps and we do not want vertical clamps… lol…
Thank You in advance for any and all help vape family!..

Smoky Blue’s Peach Overload…

Just found this yet again, posted to ELR… and wanted to say thank you to the user @core for sharing it. I know it took you some time to transpose the ingredients to here… just like it took me a hour to mix this, no matter the size amount. I used to mix this by the gallon for a local vape shop… but I released to VU as a Christmas gift years ago. So… on this… yeah I know I have experience with other companies… but still nothing beats the flavors @Flavorah has… This recipe is now defunct as a few ingredients are no longer in production… however, feel free to modify it…

thanks again!
