Nic content over 50mg

I’m trying to get a recipe up to 50mg nicotine but as soon as I go over 14.8 I get a message at the bottom saying:

Something is wrong with the numbers. PG/VG ratio?

Is there a way around this? Thanks.

Review of WOTOFO Profile M RTA

$

I expect that the Profile M, which i presume means Mini, will be the final realese and completes the Profile Family. It all started with the RDA, then the Unity RTA, then the RDTA, and now the Mini RTA.

I have enjoyed using all these devices with the exception of the unity which i could never consistently wick properly to prevent leaks or dry hits, or burnt cotton shoulders. When i got it right i loved it, when i got it wrong i didnt…and it was this inconsistency which forced it out of my rotation. Its a tank for home…which i can swap out if it goes wrong. Its not a tank for a day out. However this was all user error and bad practice so I can only blame my skills not the Device.

I tested this using molinberrys freaky donut from chefs flavours. I had found this juice a touch muted on my blotto, but I could pick out flavours more clearly on the profile m.

Now the ‘M’ will hopefully make it into my rotation of day out devices because its leak proof. Top airflow, sort of revoutionary silicon filling seal which i will show in the photos below. So if i can eliminate the wicking issues we should be on to a winner…but its a mini, and that means small tank capacity and regular stops at the gas station for refilling. 4ml with included bubble 3ml ish without. We know how thirsty mesh is so i am was interested to see how many miles per gallon i could get out of her:

As we all know with Wotofo, you get a full array of extra parts, cotton, mesh sheets, mesh benders…so it’s very much a plug n play tank. On opening the box, the build quality is standard wotofo, so better than most. One thing i would say is the deck seems quite light to its siblings, but again its a mini, so i guess everything is stripped back for minimum size and weight. I had a small issue with one of the clamp screws. I just couldnt get it to tighten with the included mini poodriver, but using another better screwdriver fixed that issue.

Inserting the mesh and wicking was a breeze, and i think i could probably get two wicks out of each of the wotofo thick cotton laces. I havnt tried using sheet cotton or my usual Bacon, but I think it would fine at the correct thickness. You really have to pack it in to minimize any gaps between mesh and cotton to avoid dry hits. The wotofo cotton is the correct dimension for the job in hand, so i have no problem adding a pack to my quarterly cotton purchases.

I have used all of the supplied Mesh sheets (clapton, wotofo honeycomb and triple density) at around 40-60 watts and they all perform very well. I am not sure if i can really pick a favourite yet. I will say that the flavour is outstanding thanks to the mini nature of this tank. For sure this is the main pro with mini tanks…perhaps the only pro. Cloud production is also immense and no dry hits or leaking at all so far. These two points are huge factors for me…so I am very happy indeed.

Filling is easy, but you will need a needle tip to break the seal on the leak proof filling port. So not a tank for big old screw nozzle bottles. Slide open top cap makes things easier yet again. I always hate refilling other tanks on the move and getting juice on my hands while i hold the top cap. Just be careful not to trap the silicon filling port seal when you close the cap…reminded me of a painful episode i once had with zip fly jeans and visit to the urinal at a football match.

Airflow is perfect, no whistle, nice smooth adjustment

So far no complaints from me…i really like it apart from the size, but its a mini and you wouldn’t be buying a mini if you didnt want a mini. That said I remember once searching ebay for a mini whisk for my kids’ baking adventures. Found a great deal i thought…always remember to check the category the item is listed in to prevent you buying a dolls house whisk…3cm long. The photo below is actually the mini whisk on my hands. Its not as you may think, a huge whisk layed across 4 peoples thighs.

image

One negative point that i can’t ignore is the drip tip that is supplied…its more of a drip ridge. Its so low profile that i struggled to get my lips anywhere close to it. I switched it out to a more suitable one straight away.

Overall i am really impressed with the tank. If they made it a full size version with improvements made to this added to the unity, I would buy it for sure. I will still use it in the house regularly as the flavour and clouds are up there with the best. Well done Wotofo, its just right!

Need recommendations for RTAs

$

I have been vaping for 3 1/2 years and have come to the conclusion that many of the products that I have purchased, particularly Mods, are typical garbage from China. In fairness, I have never spent more than $40 for a Mod, but I have purchased so many that have failed within a month or two of usage.

A few of the best that I have used are the eLeaf Pico, PicoX and my current mod, the Geek Vape Aegis Solo. I have only been using the Aegis for a month so I can’t vouch for its longevity yet.

What are some of the best RTA’s that you have had experience with over time. No leaking, good flavor, good quality, etc? I have had great experience with the Augvape Merlin, but I am looking for something larger like 24-25mm with a large capacity.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Homogenizers- Game Changer and others-What size?

$

BACKGROUND:

When I first went down the path of using this equipment for e juice purposes I was totally in the dark about how it worked and what was available. I read a lot of guides to e juice making and found repeated statements consisting of essentially “do this” “unless you have a homogenizer.” Upon a little investigation I found that the equipment is generally far beyond what most if not all DIY mixers would or could pay to own. I wasted time attempting to get the “high shear” effect with an overhead stirrer. Fail.

I then bought a used model made in Asia that retails new for about $800. It had a very small 5 mm probe/generator. It worked…for about a week. That was long enough to develop an understanding of the process. I then purchased what is purported to be an american made unit new for a ‘good’ price . Retail was approximately 3K. I didn’t pay anywhere near that. It has a large motor but due to price I bought a 7 mm and 10 mm generator. Maximum volume of the 10 mm is about 120 ml of e juice. I still was unsatisfied and wanted to mix larger volumes. This led to making my own rather than pay what I felt was an exorbitant price for a larger generator.

DESIGNING THE GAME CHANGER

So I started with a 5 mm and then purchased a 7 and 10 mm generator. I then began researching other makes and models and then started purchasing, using, repairing, and selling surplus units from universities and other sources. From this gained knowledge I then starting designing mine with unique features optimized for liquid/liquid e juice mixing. To be very clear I did not copy any makers design. While I’m not willing to give away the farm, there are multiple mechanical functions being applied by the workhead or rotor/stator mix chamber configuration.

The first design consideration is always safety. All materials chosen are FDA/USDA food contact approved and both corrosion and chemical resistant. Mechanical safety is assured.

The second consideration was whether I could design and produce an affordable device for the DIY communities that has full functionality and high quality. I believe I have though the drawback is the wait time. Outsourcing would likely quadruple the costs.

So in a no compromise mindset I chose materials that are more easily machined than the all stainless steel common to the market. I also settled upon 2 sizes. However, industry standards for lab sized homogenizers start at 5 mm then 7,10 12, 20 and 30 mm outside diameters.

The small size GC is 3/8 or .375 inches outside diameter. 10 mm is .393 inches so very close. The large size is 1/2 or .500 inches, slightly larger than the typical 12 mm units on the market.

WHICH SIZE?

The question of mixing small 10 ml volumes with the GC has come up repeatedly. It can and is being done but my opinion is that the 10 ml tester is a product of the conventional method . Increasing it to 15 or 20 for use with the small GC is recommended. The “small” unit is actually a mid sized lab unit. I chose a range of function suited for mixing up to 120 ml. However, 15 on the low up to 100 is probably its best range. My design target for the large was 240. users have reported 500 ml by moving the generator around.

I did not feel like making a small generator due to their small range of capability. 5 mm would likely top out at 10 or 15 mls. 7 at about 30. I didn’t feel like mixers would want to spend a couple of hundred dollars on a low range of volume device. I can though if there is enough interest.

Pictured below is a model made by Polytron / Kinnematica that includes 5, 7, and 12 mm generators. I consider Kinnematica the “Rolls Royce” of this industry. I have some available including what is pictured.

Kayfun Prime LEAKS!

$

Many experts here … This week I went back to using a Kayfun Prime that I had left aside a long time ago.
For a few days I was asking my buttons: “why stop using it if it tastes so good?”
Suddenly, without any warning, for no apparent reason, I come across leaks through the hole in his air intake … there is the reason why I “leaned” against him.
I started researching and it seems to me that it is a hopeless case, with no solution.
My last resort is that maybe someone here has managed to solve this type of leak that is very characteristic, known and specific to Kayfun prime. Someone uses? Suggestions?

Finally placed my 1st order from Chef's

Waited 10 days and as luck would have it, they got it wrong.
I had ordered (2) 30ml Custard Premium/Flavor Creative. What I received were (2) 10ml Custard Premium (FA) instead. And…the 30ml Devon Cream I ordered leaked inside the box. It looks like the cap they use wasn’t press-fitted correctly and some spilled out while in transit.

Already sent them a message, but for those who’ve dealt with them…are they pretty good about correcting orders? What’s been your experience?

Single flavor help

I have some REDs apple ejuice in a higher nic count that I am no longer at.

I wanted to dilute it to 50%

The only apple flavoring I have is cap double apple.

I was going to make a 30ml using the double apple then add the 30ml of reds to it and hope for the best.

What percentage of the double apple would you use as a stand alone flavor?

Help me fill my last bottle!

$

Okay, I have been going through the What Can I Make and picked out a bunch of recipes, modified them for my nic/ratio preferences and filled 9 out of 10 bottles I got from my starter kit purchase and I have run out of ideas. I am waiting for more concentrates to show up and I have branched out a bit from TPA… it would be really cool if I could fill my last available 30 ml bottle for some nice steeping before today’s NFL playoff games are over. Not concerned too much about testing, I’m easy, just took what I got from ZampleBox for the last 6 years or so and vaped it with mostly good results so a dud can be vaped through and then I move on.

Haven’t used any of the Lemon, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream or Watermelon… haven’t tasted anything beyond my first attempt of a Strawberry Cheesecake which has been a pleasant surprise, mixed it yesterday, its been good to me. I will make another one and let it steep a bit to see what’s up but for now… NY made it hard for me to vape flavors and I was desperate.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Assistance with a first time remix/clone (menthol)

$

Hi I’ve been mixing for a few weeks now. I am still very inexperienced and I’m starting to branch out into making my own recipes and I’m searching for a good all day vape. My staple when I was still buying commercial was Jenny by silverback. This was a strawberry watermelon menthol. I’ve gotten a few flavors and I’m trying to nail down just a single part of the profile. The most important note that I taste in this liquid is the menthol. It doesnt seem to have any sort of mint note to it and it is a very strong menthol with a hit in the front of the throat. I’m looking into different brands to emulate it and get that strong flavor without getting medicinal. I started testing with Capella menthol first and I can barely taste it at 5% in a mix. Any menthol heads out there that can recommend some brands or percentages for me to try? I’m just trying to nail down one note right now, because I know I’m taking on more than I can chew and I’m trying to teach myself the next steps in mixing. (I can follow recipes easily and I’ve had some good success so far).

Any help would be appreciated, and if you’ve tasted this juice and are a fan that would be even better!
Thanks!
