4 batteries married?

$
0
0

Hi, gang,
7-year vaper, long-time lurker here.

I mostly vape mods with internal batteries, but I got a Reuleaux RX300 that takes 4 batteries, cuz I like big batts and I can not lie! So I also got 4 Vapesourcing 18650 2100mah 30a batteries & have used them in the Reuleaux for almost 2 years.

Recently I got an Eleaf Lexicon with my stimulus money so I took 2 of the VS batteries to use in it cuz those 4 were the only batteries I had. They worked fine, but now I find of the unused 2 batteries, 1 is dead for some strange reason. It won’t register in my 2-bay charger. I’m sure all 4 worked good the last time I vaped on the Reuleaux, but now it won’t even turn on.

Fine, just order 1 new battery from Vapesourcing. Except at the mo, VS won’t ship that battery to America any more. VS will ship a Sony 2100mah 30a to America for $8.50 or so cuz their shipping rates are so high.

I don’t have a 1-battery mod, or a 3-battery mod either, so I can use a pair for a spare, but have no use for a single battery. Can I make a new foursome from the 3 older VS batteries+a new Sony VTC4? I’d rather not buy 4 new batteries cuz I mostly still use Eleaf iPower, eVic VT, or even a Penguin for my 70 puffs per hour of 6mg juice at about 37w.

Thanx for your help.

Sweet Tea? Anyone perfected it yet?

So, I get a message from a friend in New York who has decided to begin DIY. The first thing she asks for? A sweet tea recipe. The one thing I’ve never gotten down (and honestly because I never cared to try) I was hoping someone here had perfected a sweet tea I could share with her. If not I’ll force myself to do a trial and error mix that I really wouldn’t want to vape LOL

USPS Vape Mail Ban, incoming March 2021: Discussion, Updates, Info, Venting, Emotional Support

$

Hey all! Hope this is okay to post here in The Pub, I’m a newer member here & wasn’t sure if I should put the topic here or in Health & Advocacy… Loving the ELR community so far :black_heart:

I have seen a lot of talk regarding this upcoming USPS Vape Mail ban, incoming March 2021, and what exactly it may entail, who & how it will affect individual consumers, businesses, DIY, etc. Figured it would be worth dedicating a thread to this awful, stressful situation. All we really know thus far for individuals & consumers is that:

  • we have less than 120 days until potentially being unable to get our vape gear & supplies shipped to us via USPS from stateside companies :exploding_head: (China has it’s workarounds lol)
  • the bill is written to include NO NIC vape juice! basically anything that could even be considered for use in or for vaping, even CBD vaping, is going to be included (stock coils, mods, pods, tanks, no nic & nic ejuice; IIRC this means that nicotine base for DIY use is also included) :scream:
  • Costs will inevitably soar to receive gear & products as companies will be forced to abandon USPS shipping options in favor of UPS, DHL, etc :unamused:
  • FedEx has already stated that they will also be banning vape mail starting in March 2021.
  • The worst part about this is that UPS, DHL, etc generally contract out shipments to USPS for rural areas or “last mile” deliveries they just don’t want to or can’t make, so what could this possibly mean for us? Will they hang us out to dry? Will USPS still deliver last mile packages? Will we have to pay extra for signature collected 21+ deliveries, as some states require?
  • we will still be able to order from overseas, as long as they have ways for us to pay them
  • as the PMTA scare taught us, it would seem that VG, PG, flavor concentrates, wire for coil building, cotton, rayon, batteries/ chargers & similar, related rebuildable & DIY gear will be spared from the shipping regulations, as all aforementioned items have more uses than vaping :raised_hands:t3:

Here’s what I’ve gathered so far regarding the USPS ban & how it may affect businesses/ brick & mortar stores (not individual consumers): Vaping360.com has laid out a basic interpretation of what March 2021 may hold…it seems like any vape online sellers also need to comply with the tobacco based PACT act. Businesses would be required to:

  • Register with the U.S. Attorney General
  • Verify age of customers using a commercially available database
  • Use private shipping services that collect an adult signature at the point of delivery
  • If selling in states that tax vaping products, sellers must register with the federal government & with the tobacco tax administrators of the states.
  • Collect all applicable local and state taxes; affix any required tax stamps to the products sold
  • Send each taxing state’s tax admin a list of all transactions with customers in their state, including names and addresses of each customer sold to, the quantities & type of each product sold
  • Maintain records for 5 years of any “delivery interrupted because the carrier or service determines or has reason to believe that the person ordering the delivery is in violation of the PACT Act”
  • the above requirements have the potential to wipe out even more vape businesses, just like we saw the PMTAs accomplish. the PACT Act will cost businesses in time, labor, resources etc. Not to mention the threat of hefty fines & even jail time for violating may result in some closing shop

I’ve started this thread to give us all a place to vent our frustrations, link articles & information, discuss any info we can find & even come together to find any solutions (or loopholes) to this. If any updates, links or new information regarding the 2021 USPS Vape Mail ban is uncovered, please update us all here. How does this make you guys feel? Are you worried about small businesses & vape shops? What does the future of DIY look like? Does our govt even care that they’re forcing our $$ overseas?

Would now be a bad time to wish you & yours a Happy New Year? :upside_down_face:   :exploding_head: I hope this wasn’t too long & that the emojis weren’t too annoying (they help break up big text walls imo)

Wotofo nexMESH Pro tank

$
0
0

This tank was sent to my from Health Cabin for the purpose of this review. This is the second version of the nexMESH subohm tank, and it’s called the nexMESH Pro.

.

This is a full sized, mid to high wattage tank that can also transform into a single coil RTA. The rebuildable base is a separate purchase and comes in a few different colors at the base. I’ll be going over my experiences with it solely as a subohm tank.

.

.

What’s included:

  • nexMESH Pro Tank
  • H15 Mesh & Parallel Coil Combo Head (pre-installed)
  • H12 Clapton Mesh Coil Head
  • Bubble Glass Tube
  • Accessory Bag
  • User Manual

.

.

The nexMESH Pro tank:

It’s 24mm at the base but immediately flares out for the AFC ring. Above that is some decorative knurling, and it flares out even more under the glass section. It comes with a 6ml bubble glass and a 4.5ml PCTG strait tube. I see more and more companies offer these which is nice I guess. It’s less prone to cracking or breaking. On the inside of the tank there’s a “cage” like section where your coil slides into. The only visible branding is on one of the four sides of that cage part. It’s minimal.

The top cap is a slide to fill style which I normally don’t care for. This one however is on a railing which isn’t as bad as the Fireluke 2/M Pro types. It doesn’t slide open as freely which results in less leaks. I prefer quarter turn top caps or just threaded, but that’s just me. The fill opening is marked with a dot. Mine looks silver while the rest of the tank is black. When slid open there’s an elongated fill hole (with the flaps or “membrane”), but also an escape hole on the other side. That’s a smaller hole for the air to escape. I haven’t any trouble filling it.

One thing I’d like to mention is the fill gasket seems to be trapped under the slider. There’s no way that I’ve found to get it out. I don’t like that. I’ve had it on other tanks and there should be a way to get at it. It means it’s not replaceable. It can’t be thoroughly cleaned and water can possibly get trapped in places.

The drip tip is a black delrin 810 styled with o rings on it. It’s kind of beefy but nice to vape from. Here’s a photo of the tank taken apart completely.

.

.

The coils:

Wotofo is offering some coils we’ve seen before but also some that are pretty unique. The ones that come with the tank are a combination coil and a clapton mesh. The combo coil has two holes and uses wire and mesh in concert. The clapton mesh isn’t mesh at all. It’s squiggly little micro clapton wires that are held together on each end.

Also available are a conical woven mesh, a conical nexMESH, a triple mesh, and 4 hole combination coil. I like the variety.

These coils are threadless and slide in and out of the tank without any screwing. They fit a bit snug but don’t get totally stuck. I’ve had zero leaking.

.

#H15: Single mesh & Parallel coil .15Ω (Best: 65-80W)

This coil came pre-installed. I’ve never seen something like this so I was curious to see how it’d perform. I had watched some reviews on YouTube and most of them sort of cast this coil aside. I vaped it primarily at 70W and got good to above average flavor. Dual coils like this can sometimes be restrictive but this one isn’t. The tank has a massive amount of airflow. I only had it half open. I enjoyed this one but was curious about the one in the box.

Here’s what the Single Mesh & Parallel Coil actually looks like.

.

.

#H12 Clapton Mesh coil .2Ω (Best: 55-75W)

Wotofo has done something unique here. They’ve made a clapton wire coil vape like a mesh coil in terms of response time. It fires quickly and the flavor is great. It’s more saturated and warm compared to your usual mesh coils. It vapes like a clapton coil which it is essentially. The flavor is better than the combination coil. 55W isn’t enough power IMO. It starts to really come alive around 70W. I used it at 75, with the airflow about 1/3 open. Like I said, this is a really airy tank.

I tried to take a magnified picture of what the Clapton Mesh looks like before I used it.

.

.

Other Available coils:

.

.

Specs and features:

  • Tank Size: 24 x 42.85mm (without drip tip & 510 pin)
  • Tank Capacity: 4.5ml straight PCTG tube / 6ml bubble glass tube (with single coil replacement head)
  • 3.5ml straight PCTG tube / 5ml bubble glass tube (with dual coil replacement head)
  • Drip Tip: 810 Delrin Drip Tip
  • Wattage Range: 50-80W
  • Filling Method: top filling
  • Airflow Type: adjustable bottom airflow
  • Net Weight: 72±3g
  • Colors Available: Black, SS, Gunmetal, Gold, Blue, Rainbow

.

.

Conclusion:

The tank is big and built really solidly. The coils operate at a higher wattage than I’m used to. It works well but they didn’t need so much airflow IMO. If that’s your thing, you’ll love this. I like that it has a whole bunch of other coils to choose from. I haven’t bought any other packs, but I do have an RBA deck coming frim Fasttech. I’m a huge fan of RBAs. This one though isn’t like other RBAs. The whole base and build deck are together. It transforms this subohm tank into a true RTA. I like that they give you options for this tank. I wish all companies would do something like this. Earlier this year coils were scare for popular tanks. With uncertain times ahead, a rebuildable deck makes this tank a bit more “future-proof”.

I don’t think the older nexMESH coils will fit in this tank. I’ve read somewhere that coils come in packs of two. I’m not really a fan of three pack coils so two is pushing it a bit. It’s my opinion that packs of 4 are alright, 5 even better.

This tank will be nice for a lot of people. It’s solid and performs well. For those of you who like higher wattage and big airflow, this could be a solid option. If I try more coils I’ll edit in my thoughts. Same goes for the RBA.

Big thanks to Health Cabin for sending this my way, and thanks to anyone who read this review. If you have any questions, I’ll do my best to answer.

Vaping and headaches

Hi,

It’s been two months with very frequent headaches. If I stop vaping the headaches don’t come; when I start vaping again the headaches come back. This is new to me, am using the same liquids, low nic (2-3 mg)… same as I’ve been doing for two years with no problem (and I vaped a lot). Has anyone experienced something similar?

Thanks

Flavor stash help

Hello! I actually just made my first purchase of flavors, I am following Rugly’s guide on youtube and I added about 10 more flavors to make some recipes I thought I would like from the recipes page.

My problem is, some of the flavors are pretty funky in my stash and I couldn’t find the correct flavors using the search function in the tool. How do I know if I have the right flavors selected to accurately generate my stash so I can cross reference recipes I can make?

Norseman’s Review on the Tenno POD from Samurai Modz

$
0
0

I received the Tenno POD free of charge directly from Samurai Modz for the purpose of this review. Regardless of this, it will not color my opinion on this review in any way, shape or form.

Packaging
This one came in a rectangular black box printed to look like Carbon fibre and with the Tenno POD printed on the front. On the sides you find info on what POD you got and in what color plus a couple of warnings that the product may contain Nicotine and so on. On the back of the box you find info on what the kit include.

When you open the box you find the Tenno POD sitting in a cutout in foam and underneath the foam you find the manual, spare coils, charging cable, an extra liquid cartridge and a lanyard.

The Tenno POD
I normally don’t review POD’s but since Samurai Modz sent me a surprise package with this Tenno POD and the Kabuto RDA I decided to do a review on it anyway to be nice towards the guys at Samurai Modz. And I am kinda glad that I did to be honest since this little POD has surprised me a lot. But let’s start with the first impression shall we…

I got the one with the print they call Ronin and my first impression was that it is a good looking POD. It looked well made and just the design appealed to me. So I primed one coil and filled the liquid cartridge and let it sit for a while so the liquid could saturate the cotton real good.

At this point I need to say that I only have Max VG liquid that I mix myself. Max VG is my thing just because I normally only use RDA’s that can handle that. Anyway, I filled it with my Max VG liquid and just hoped for the best. The best in this case would be that the Tenno could handle Max VG.

When I started using it I was expecting it to give me dry hits and lots of it thanks to my Max VG mix but to my surprise it just gave me well saturated draws and even though I tried to get it to a point where it couldn’t keep up it still didn’t give me a single dry hit.

The flavor I get out of it is also beyond what I have gotten from other POD’s I have tried earlier. Ok, to be honest, it isn’t as good as the flavor I get from my best RDA’s but in all fairness I must say that it delivers and gives me good flavor. At the end of the day I am impressed just over this fact and that fact alone have made me use this POD a lot more than I actually thought I would.

It is a small device with its 97mm X 28mm X 18mm and it weighs 63g and the build quality is excellent. Everything fits together without any issues and that for me is a big pro. It does come with a lanyard fitted with a rubber ring that you mount around the POD and this means you can have it hanging around your neck for easy access.

The liquid goes into the black cartridge sitting on top of the POD and the coils goes into the bottom of that cartridge. The cartridge holds 3ml of liquid for most of the world and for the poor guys living under the TPD regime it just holds 2ml. While mentioning the coils I need to address the fact that the coils got an airflow ring on them that you can use to change the airflow in this device and I would say that most people will be able to find a setting that suites them.

The draw on the Tenno is quite nice, ok some sounds comes out of it but if you are using a device people mean is silent they as well do make some noises to an extent, I mean you are after all forcing air through a small hole. I would call the Tenno silent with no whistling going on.

The battery is a 1100mAh internal battery that didn’t last me one day of use when I used it for this review. In order to be able to use it all day long I had to charge the battery once. It is also possible to use the POD while it is charging thanks to pass through charging

The wattage output on this one is between 10-15w and you can change the wattage between three preset levels, the first one is 3.2V and the light is blue, the second is 3.5V and the light is green and the third is 3.7V with a red light. In order to change the voltage output you click the fire button three times quickly. As normal for most devices this one also powers up when you press the fire button 5 times quickly and it shuts off the same way unless you let it sit for 5 minutes and it will shut off by itself to preserve battery.

Assessment
It is my opinion that this POD is the best one I have tried and used up to this date. It can handle Max VG liquid without any issues. The flavor I get out of it is actually really good for a POD. The coil life has been really good but I expect the coil life to be somewhat shorter when it is used with store bought liquid that has sweetener in it.

One drawback is the short battery life I had with it but on the other hand it is easy enough to charge and the fact that you can use it while it is charging.

Can i recommend it to others?
I don’t see why not when it comes to the Tenno POD. It is well built, it does deliver on flavor, it can handle Max VG liquid, you can change the airflow on it and it does look good and it has a number of options when it comes to the design on it.

Pros
Machining
Handles Max VG liquid
Good flavor
No leaking
Looks good
Adjustable airflow
Ease of use

Cons
Battery life

I have 2 bottles of 70/30 100ml eliquid. They sent me no nicotine by mistake. I have 100% nicotine in a vg base. How much nicotine should I add (after removing some of the eliquid) to make the bottles 6ml of nicotine?
It seems like this should be easy but I’m stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
